- My boy and his dog... I realized I hadn't heard him in a few minutes. I found him outside filling his dogs water bowl... with out being asked to. Good Kid!
And then the dog jumped into her dog dish and start playing in the water. I watched my son bite her in the head because he had just filled it up and he was angry she got it dirty..... can't imagine where he gets that from....
Unless you think just because his mom & grandfather both used to bite dog back when they bit them as children has anything to do with it...

The Naked Streak
So I have this friend. She has this adorable daughter. And if you hadn't guessed from the title, she likes to strip down butt naked and roam their house AND yard.....
Keep in mind this was a few years ago, but for some reason it came to mind today....
Her mom warned me about her naked streak before I came over one day.
I was coming over and she felt she should warn me about it. It seemed it has happened many time in that day. She'd put fresh clean clothes on and she'd turn her back for 2 seconds, turn back around and shed have stripped it all off!
Early that morning she had told me she let her out in the yard to play. She realized she was too quiet and went out to check on her. Sure enough, she had stripped off all her clothes and was out playing as naked as the day she was born.
Me, outwardly laughing, said "Ok. It's not like I haven't seen it before..."
Famous last word.....
I arrived at her house, my friend met me half way down the walkway, as we always seem to do. We were talking and laughing about her child's new Naturalist look on life, when sure enough, she came walking around the back of the house... completely naked. I desperately trying not to laugh, but my eyes filled with the mirth I was trying to hide, pointed her daughter out. Their faithful old beagle trailing along next to her.
Instantly her mother start scolding her saying "I just put clothes on you! Where are your cl..." At this point her daughter had ending up standing, straddling over their old beagle.....what happened next literally took my breath away...She peed...... all over their poor faithful dog. This poor dog looked so indignant, morbidly stunned, and plain and simple looked up at me and her master as if to say "What do I do?"
I being the close old friend that I am, tried desperately not to laugh. I took a deep breath and looked up at her mother, with tears steaming down my face as I fought the laughter that so desperately trying to escape, took one look at her mother face.... and totally lost my shit! She , herself, had been so desperately trying not to laugh, seemed to be looking for composure in me.... and I had none to give.
I laughed so hard I feel to the ground. Her mother instantly followed suit. Gasping for each breath through my laughter I tried to apologize for laughing, knowing once you laugh, the kids thinks it's OK.
Now my friend found composure long before I did. Well, better composure. I wouldn't call it complete, due to the fact I think you'd have to stop laughing for that. She went to the poor animals aid and tried to restore it's dignity as best she could at this point by cleaning her off. And, when a bit more composure could be maintained, the child was taken in and dressed again, and a discussion about how peeing on the dog was inappropriate ensued... but I can't be completely sure of it's contents......
I was still outside laughing and trying to gain some sort of composure when my dear friend came back to me.
I swear.. I thought i was going to pee my pants!

Those Little Moments
You know the ones I mean,
Like when your squeezing the ketchup bottle and it farts and he laugh and says "the ketchup bottle farted.." still laughing.
Or when you go to pick him up from day care and he says "Can I stay here and play?" leading with those little blues eyes.
Or when he brings home a paper that said what he' thankful for and the list is as follows:
Turkey
Brownie (our dog)
Dad
School
and you notice that you're (mom) not on there and it just breaks your heart.
"mom... can I sleep with you?" usually defined as, jumping on the bed, tossing turning, rolling on top of you, demanding a kiss to avoid sleeping, pulling open the curtain to peek out the window and let the car lights in.... "mom I need a drink." is always included in that particular activity.
One of my favorites is while he's laying in your bed and you decide to make his stuffed animal a lively bedtime playmate for him. Giving hugs and kisses and shaking while it laughs.. (Yes I've paid for this often but it's just TOO CUTE!).
Knowing that your kids wasn't afraid to get this picture taken with Santa and so many others you know were.
